Cartography R Us

I like doodling. To be honest, though, I'm not very good at drawing people, or animals, or anything real, but I'm very good at drawing maps of non-existent places. Yeah, I know. I don't do it a lot, it's mainly when I'm losing interest in what's going on around me and when I've pen and paper to hand. I think it's a manifestation of my interest in maps, especially maps which aren't your bog-standard Ordinance Survey maps that are found at every rural tourist office or on the past Leaving Cert papers in Geography class where you had to describe where on the map you'd imagine traffic would be at its worst (If my Leaving Cert Geography class had it's way, Ardee would be littered with roundabouts and bypasses). I found a website which features unusual maps, such as the voting patterns in American counties during the recent Presidential election, the world as seen through the eyes of various people, like the world according to Ronald Reagan, and maps of non-existent places. It's called Strange Maps, and can be found at http://strangemaps.wordpress.com/ . Check it out.
